Farm Education Conference Center

When you come to The Farm Education/ Conference Center, you get a holiday in the country coupled with an interesting and educational agenda.

A Little About Us

Located in a beautifully renovated original school house of The Farm community, the conference center offers an interesting and unusual venue for week long and weekend events.

cc
The Solar School, the largest passive solar building in the state of Tennessee, is located just steps away. It provides additional space for classes and workshops. Our outdoor stage and fairgrounds, dormitory building and camping areas complete the 20 acre campus. Most of the community's 1750 acres is preserved in beautiful hardwood forest. Our guests enjoy leisurely strolls, strenuous hikes, creek walks, and swimming in season.

Established in 1971 as a hippie commune with high ideals, The Farm has evolved into a cooperative dynamic community of families and friends living on 1750 acres held in a land trust.

We use mutual respect and tolerance to generate a friendly working and living environment.

cc
During all these years, The Farm has been at the forefront of alternative philosophies such as soy technology, home birth, midwifery, and vegan diets. A member of the world- wide Eco-Village movement, a training center is located a short walk from the campus.

Cuisine

The FECC has earned a renowned reputation for delicious vegan recipes. People come back year after year asking for our "ice bean" ice cream made from soy milk. Roberta, our main chef has been perfecting her vegan recipes for over twenty years.

cc
We guarantee the meals will be the highlight of your visit. Soy like you've never had before! We can also cater to special diets. Fast food and crafts are available at The Farm store, a pleasant 1 mile walk from the center

Facilities

ccFECC is the heart of the campus. It can comfortably seat 120 people. The Solar School provides 4 classrooms, pottery and weaving rooms as well as a daycare room. Both buildings are air conditioned. The Wooden School (the first Farm High School) now houses two dorm rooms, each with several single beds. Handicapped friendly, a two room cabin, sleeps 5, and renovated schoolbus that sleeps 4 are available to rent. The Eco-Village training center also has dorm rooms with bunk beds, and a few single rooms. Camping is available either in a walk in wooded area, or a keep your vehicle with you area.
